Last Thursday, New Buffalo beat Marcellus 56-47. The victory was just what New Buffalo needed coming off of a 73-48 loss in their prior game.
New Buffalo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elliott Bourne, who scored 15 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. Bourne is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Haskins, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
Meanwhile, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 56-36 margin over River Valley.
New Buffalo's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Our Lady of the Lake Catholic, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
New Buffalo couldn't quite finish off Our Lady of the Lake Catholic in their previous matchup back in February and fell 45-42. Can New Buffalo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
