The Roosevelt Roughriders will head out on the road to face off against the Riverdale Ridge Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt will be strutting in after a victory while Riverdale Ridge will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Roosevelt was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain View, taking the game 28-21. Roosevelt pushed the score to 28-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Mountain View cut but never quite recovered from.
Roosevelt got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier Ramirez out in front who rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Ramirez has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Trevor Karabensh also helped out with an impressive 118 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Riverdale Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Mead by a score of 6-3. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, Riverdale Ridge couldn't push the score so high this time.
Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Riverdale Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 8-2.
Everything came up roses for Roosevelt against Riverdale Ridge in their previous matchup back in September of 2021 as the team secured a 41-0 victory. Will Roosevelt repeat their success, or does Riverdale Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
