Basketball Recap: Moapa Valley Extends Winning Streak to Two

Somerset Sky Pointe came into Monday's game looking for another win against Moapa Valley, but Bryson Walker wouldn't allow it. The Moapa Valley Pirates secured a 59-53 W over the Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles on Monday thanks in part to Walker, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16.2 points per game.

Another player making a difference was Russell Hardy, who posted three points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, Somerset Sky Pointe still got an impressive performance from Ja'Cory Gory, who put up 21 points and three steals. That was a full 39.6% of Somerset Sky Pointe's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emmitt Bell, who posted 13 points and five assists.

The win made it two in a row for Moapa Valley and bumps their season record up to 3-7. As for Somerset Sky Pointe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Moapa Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-51 defeat against Legacy on the 24th. As for Somerset Sky Pointe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-51 victory against Canyon Springs on the 24th.
