The Leadore Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Taylor's Crossing Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leadore is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Leadore was handed a 20-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Miners on Friday. Leadore sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 victory over the Miners. The win was just what Leadore needed coming off of a 64-44 loss in their prior contest.
Leadore's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Herbst, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Herbst is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Taylor Ayers was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Taylor's Crossing can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-36 win over Non Varsity Opponent.
Leadore's record is now 6-15. Taylor's Crossing's record now sits at 7-10.
Leadore came up short against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 55-50. Can Leadore avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
