Berwick hit Wyoming Area with a seven-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors fell 12-7 to the Bulldogs.
Josie Kivak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Addison Gaylord was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Greater Nanticoke Area can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over MMI Preparatory School. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Trojans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Greater Nanticoke Area also got a great performance from Kacey Spencer as she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Spencer a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Greater Nanticoke Area let Juliana Percival and Sophia Cromer run wild. Percival went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Cromer went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave Cromer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyvia Schneider, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Wyoming Area's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Greater Nanticoke Area, their win bumped their record up to 2-14.
