Temecula Valley is a perfect 5-0 against Lakeside since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Temecula Valley Golden Bears will head out to take on the Lakeside Lancers at 3:15 p.m. Temecula Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14 runs per game this season.
While Temecula Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 10-7 win over Arroyo Valley on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Bears considering their two-run performance the match before.

Charlee Carrillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Avery DePauw was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Kaitlyn Crouse was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
Temecula Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Lakeside came up short against Murrieta Valley on Tuesday, falling 17-1. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Nighthawks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Lakeside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Franco, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Franco hit this season.
Temecula Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Lakeside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Temecula Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .396. It's a different story for Lakeside, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Temecula Valley's hitters?
Temecula Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Temecula Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
