Basketball Game Preview: Cape Hatteras Hurricanes vs. Manteo Redskins

The Cape Hatteras Hurricanes will square off against the Manteo Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cape Hatteras will be strutting in after a victory while Manteo will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Cape Hatteras turned things around against Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 34-10 margin over the Griffins. That 24 point margin sets a new team best for the Hurricanes this season.

Cape Hatteras found their leader in sophomore Paizley Schultz, who went 8 of 12 en route to 19 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schultz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gabby Baker, who posted five points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Manteo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The matchup between them and Holmes didn't end well, with Manteo falling 35-20. The Redskins were down 33-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Cape Hatteras' win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Manteo, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Cape Hatteras came up short against Manteo in their previous matchup last Tuesday, falling 41-30. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Manteo's Jazmine Cooper, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 boards.
