The Keystone Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 41-32 to Union. Keystone was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Union apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for Hayden Smith, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds for Union. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Union's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Fleming, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Keystone's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Union, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Keystone will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarion Area at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Clarion Area will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Union, they will head out on the road to square off against Redbank Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Redbank Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
