Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Scott

While Scott's win against Westside wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Skyhawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Renegades 5-3. The win was nothing new for the Skyhawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ava Sampson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hannah Miller, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Caitlyn Esbrandt was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Scott's record now sits at 18-4. As for Westside, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-5.

Coming up, Scott will be playing in front of their home fans against Winfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Skyhawks 3.1, the Generals 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Westside, they will take on Man at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hillbillies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Renegades' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
