If the Towns County Indians were riding high off their 46-25 takedown of the Summit Charter Bears last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Towns County was beaten by Union County 68-36 on Friday. Towns County has not had much luck with Union County recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Towns County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brelan Sieveking, who scored 14 points, and Kaleigh Beaver who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Sieveking is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Towns County's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-2. As for Union County, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Towns County will challenge Lincoln County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 426th, while Towns County is ranked 202nd). As for Union County, they will head out on the road to face off against Fannin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
