Baseball Recap: Benedictine Has No Trouble Against Stow-Munroe Falls

Benedictine's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs as they made off with an 8-1 win. The Bengals not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28th (when they won 12-4).

Ben Scheer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Jerrold Brazelton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Haug, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Benedictine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stow-Munroe Falls only posted an OBP of .333.

Benedictine's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-11. As for Stow-Munroe Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-15.

Looking ahead, Benedictine will welcome Elyria Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.33 runs per game on average), something the Bengals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Stow-Munroe Falls, they are taking a road trip to square off against Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
