After a string of seven wins, Cullman's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to the Jonesboro Cardinals. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bearcats came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Alabama, while the Cardinals are ranked 141st in Georgia).

Cullman's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Jonesboro, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

When Cullman and Jonesboro next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Cullman will try to stop Dutchtown's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Jonesboro will square off against Enterprise and their six-game winning streak at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
