Football Recap: Bishop England Piles Up the Points Against Colleton County

While Bishop England put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Colleton County. The Battling Bishops took their game with ease, bagging a 55-0 victory over the Cougars. Considering the Battling Bishops have won five matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bishop England got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was William Donato out in front who threw for 143 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 61 yards and one TD on only six carries. Those four passing touchdowns gave Donato a new career-high. 105 of Donato's passing yards were hauled in by Brody Tonon, who also brought in three receiving touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Bishop England proved: they limited Colleton County to a paltry 1.9 yards per carry. While three picked up at least seven total tackles, Tonon stood above the rest. He picked up 105 receiving yards and three scores. Bishop England didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.5.

Bishop England didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hunter Alex and Jackson Radcliffe. Alex has been hot for a while, having also posted six or more total tackles the last nine times he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Bishop England's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.3 points over those games. As for Colleton County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, Bishop England will face off against Lower Richland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Colleton County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
