The Christian Patriots will take on the Sweetwater Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Last Tuesday, it was close, but Christian sidestepped Grossmont for a 3-2 win.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Christian got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 25-12, 22-25, 15-12.

Christian can attribute much of their success to Trae Pheasant, who had 12 digs and two aces, and McKade Mathson, who had 20 digs and three assists. Mathson has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last four times he's played.
They weren't the only good server: Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Sweetwater hadn't done well against Coronado recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Sweetwater came out on top against Coronado by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.
The victory didn't come easy: Coronado scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 14-25, 25-22.
Sweetwater pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
