The Munroe Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Chiles 31-25. The game was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Munroe was outscored by Chiles in the second.
Munroe's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Traniha Jackson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Mya Mccullar was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Chiles was led to victory by Faith Durden and Lainey Crisafulli. Durden scored 12 points along with nine rebounds, while Crisafulli scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Durden has scored at least a third of Chiles' points.

Munroe on the road again on Saturday and play against L.E.A.D. Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully L.E.A.D. Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Thursday. Chiles won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Maclay at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. Maclay has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
