The Brentwood Bruins came tearing into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 58-34 margin over Independence. Considering Brentwood has won eight games by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ella Ryan was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with four steals. The contest was her 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Morris, who scored 14 points.
Brentwood pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Independence, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Brentwood will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Brentwood is ranked tenth). As for Independence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Centennial is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
