Little River is 7-1 against Herington since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Little River Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Herington Railroaders at 6:30 p.m. Little River is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Little River has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 50 points or more this season. They took their matchup at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 58-8 victory over Wakefield. Given Little River's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Wakefield is ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Little River's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arika Feldman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Eck, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Herington had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They took down Centre 35-19 last Friday. The win was just what Herington needed coming off of a 56-19 defeat in their prior game.
Little River's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.89 points. Herington's record is now 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Little River against Herington in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 55-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Little River since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
