The biggest upset of the week belonged to West, who took down 559th ranked Golden Valley, 34-18. ENRIQUE SALAZAR threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns and ran for one yards in the win.
The Vikings moved up to 515 from 572 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in South Yosemite. West climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Bulldogs 34-18.
Chris Garcia made the biggest impact on defense this week as South lost to Ridgeview. The 5-foot-9 junior recorded one fumble.
Kamari Cotton-moya was the most productive running back in the league this week. In nine carries, he ran for 102 yards as the Wolf Pack bested Golden Valley. Teammate Brandon Tripp added to the ground attack by rushing for 86 yards.
MITCHELL was the best wideout in the league this week as the Vikings topped Erich Smith's team. MITCHELL racked up three receptions for 87 yards. DAVID ROSS helped West's passing attack out by catching two balls for 80 yards.
The Bulldogs' Alexander Soto and Demetric Fair have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading South Yosemite in both passing and receiving yards. Soto has thrown for 1274 yards this season, while Fair, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 34 catches for 586 yards. Ridgeview's Cotton-moya leads the league in rushing yards with 1013.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when West takes on Dennis Manning's team. As it stands, the Vikings are in third, while the Wolf Pack are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when West and Ridgeview face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Vikings comes in having scored 208 this season, while the Wolf Pack have scored 248. West scored 34 points last week as it defeated Golden Valley.
Ridgeview extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Rebels, 49-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Wolf Pack.
