The Marshall Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 62-39 loss at the hands of Clark. While losing is never fun, Marshall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 901st, while Clark is ranked 300th).
Marshall's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aj Torres, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aric Goodman, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clark to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dom Guerra, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Kristian Burgan, who scored 11 points.
Marshall has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Clark, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Marshall will take on Reagan in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. Hopefully Reagan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday. As for Clark, they will head out on the road to face off against Lee at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Lee will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
