The Sylva Bay Academy Saints's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tunica Academy Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th. Sylva Bay Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Tunica Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Sylva Bay Academy extended their postseason success on Saturday against Laurel Christian. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 55-21 on the road. Sylva Bay Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Sylva Bay Academy found their leader in underclassman Cash Pickel, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Brody Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Tunica Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in January after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Lake Cormorant on the road and fell 72-27.
Sylva Bay Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Tunica Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Sylva Bay Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Tunica Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win.
