The Prairie View Thunderhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Broomfield at home and fell 83-36. Prairie View has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Thunderhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Javon Brewton, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Brewton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Holman, who scored two points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Broomfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joey Cook, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Blaes Kane was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Prairie View dropped their record down to 4-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Broomfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prairie View will square off against the Coyotes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Broomfield, they and the Bulldogs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Brighton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Eagles are ranked 50th).
