District 10 Region 2 A recap Nov. 7, 2012
Eisenhower's Alex Johnson recorded the longest rushing play in District 10 Region 2 A this season in his game against Cameron County last week. Johnson's team beat the Raiders as he sprinted for 94 yards on the play and finished with 110 in all.
Mercyhurst Prep moved up to 336 from 380 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lakers climbed the ranks as a result of besting Northwestern 14-7.
Eisenhower's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Aaron Lundmark threw for 182 and one touchdown and Nathan O'Brien had 113 yards receiving. On the ground John Pascuzzi chipped in 154 yards. Jake Johnson helped Eisenhower's passing attack out by catching one ball for 39 yards.
Thomas Higgins made the biggest impact on defense this week as Mercyhurst Prep bested the Wildcats. The 5-foot-9 senior grabbed two interceptions and recorded one fumble.
6-foot-1 quarterback Chad Eisenhooth of Cochranton is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1290. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. On the ground, Matt Morgan's team's Cornelius Barclay has rushed for 1715 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is O'Brien. The Eisenhower star has 27 catches for 643 yards.
In 148 carries Colton Noble has accumulated 923 yard this year.
The Lakers extended the longest winning streak in District 10 Region 2 A this week by beating Northwestern, 14-7. The win marks sixth in a row for the Mercyhurst Prep.
