The Hightstown Rams will head out to take on the Monroe Township Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Hightstown barely beat Princeton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Tigers on Monday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Kady Olsen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hayden Bustos was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Olivia Werden also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monroe Township). They blew past Metuchen 18-7 on Monday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Like Hightstown, Monroe Township also got a great game from a two-way player: Monica Bukowczyk. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bukowczyk was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brielle Zarsky, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Madeline Totten, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five RBI and one run.
Monroe Township hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive games.
Hightstown's record is now 8-4. As for Monroe Township, their record now sits at 6-7.
Monroe Township's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Hightstown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Monroe Township, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 strikeouts. Will Hightstown keep running through batters, or will the Falcons buck the trend?
Hightstown was able to grind out a solid win over Monroe Township in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
