Peak to Peak and Jefferson Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Pumas will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
On Saturday, Peak to Peak made easy work of Kent Denver and carried off a 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pumas, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cooper Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Peak to Peak is 5-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Campbell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dane Hirt, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Peak to Peak is 6-2 when Hirt posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Drew Kraft, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Academy had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over The Academy on Thursday. That looming 9-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Jaguars yet this season.
Jefferson Academy's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austen Bauer, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Bauer a new career-high. Jackson Martinez was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.
Peak to Peak has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Jefferson Academy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 3-16-1.
Jefferson Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Peak to Peak has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Jefferson Academy, though, as they've been averaging 10.2 hits. Given Peak to Peak's sizable advantage in that area, the Jaguars will need to find a way to close that gap.
Peak to Peak couldn't quite finish off Jefferson Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Pumas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
