Last Sunday, St. Andrew's Episcopal faced Bullis in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Andrew's Episcopal took a serious blow against Bullis, falling 86-37. St. Andrew's Episcopal has struggled against Bullis recently, as their game on Sunday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, St. Andrew's Episcopal had strong showings from Lamaria Estridge, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Sophia Brooks, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Flint Hill was beaten by Maret 72-45 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Flint Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 66th in Virginia, while Maret is ranked 14th in District of Columbia).
St. Andrew's Episcopal has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Flint Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
St. Andrew's Episcopal was dealt a bruising 68-37 defeat at the hands of Flint Hill when the teams last played back in February of 2016. Can St. Andrew's Episcopal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
