Softball Recap: Carrington Wins Going Away Against Larimore

Carrington won the last time they faced Larimore and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Polar Bears. Considering the Cardinals have won four matchups by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Calleigh Hewitt made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Hewitt was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Maara Kutz was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Aubrey Neis was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Carrington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Carrington's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Larimore, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Carrington will head out on the road to square off against Harvey at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Larimore, they will challenge Thompson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
