Jordan Bruce and Alec Fernandez-Morales provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Highland Christian. The connection went for 84 yards, the longest such play in 1B Northwest - South (8 Man) this season.
Rainier Christian took down Highland Christian 60-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jared Nelson threw for 169 yards and three touchdowns, ran for 90 yards and caught one passes for 50 yards in the win.
Rainier Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mustangs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nelson has thrown for 169 yards and three touchdowns this season, while David Helmer has two catches for 132 yards. Nelson also leads the league in rushing with 90 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Mustangs take on Evergreen Lutheran. Rainier Christian is currently in third, while the Eagles are in second.
Jeff Nelson's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,162 from 1,254. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 60-8 victory over Highland Christian last week.
