Make it four blowout wins for the Lone Peak Knights this season. They were the clear victor by a 71-46 margin over Pleasant Grove. The win was just what Lone Peak needed coming off of a 63-39 defeat in their prior match.
Lone Peak's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shawnee Nordstrom led the charge by scoring 21 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Bartholomew, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Despite the loss, Pleasant Grove saw an underclassman step up: Tabi Clark scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Cash Connors, who scored five points.
Lone Peak's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-6. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.67 points. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lone Peak will take on American Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. American Fork will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Lone Peak is ranked fourth). As for Pleasant Grove, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Westlake at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th.
