The Leyton Warriors were the 51-42 winner over the Potter-Dix Coyotes when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Leyton took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Potter-Dix on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Leyton still got an impressive performance from Jonathan Kruse, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Kruse scored a full 33.3% of Leyton's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Borges, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Leyton were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Potter-Dix's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Kasten, who scored 14 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The game was Kasten's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Tabor, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Leyton now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Potter-Dix, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leyton will be home for the holidays to greet Hemingford on Saturday. Hemingford is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Potter-Dix, they will be playing at home against Caliche at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
