The IDEA Monterrey Park College Prep Bears will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against KIPP University Prep at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th.
Back in November of 2023, IDEA Monterrey Park College Prep suffered a rough 58-32 defeat at the hands of the Chargers.
Meanwhile, KIPP University Prep had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 61-49 victory over Varsity Opponent on Wednesday.
Sergio Murillo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of KIPP University Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Raymond Ruiz, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
IDEA Monterrey Park College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for KIPP University Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
IDEA Monterrey Park College Prep came up short against the in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 53-46. Can IDEA Monterrey Park College Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
