After flying high against the Lordstown Red Devils last Saturday, the McKinley Red Dragons came back down to earth. McKinley suffered a rough 59-38 loss at the hands of Poland Seminary on Monday. While losing is never fun, McKinley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while Poland Seminary is ranked 274th).
Kherington Stanford was McKinley's leading scorer, having posted 11 points.
Katie Heinselman held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with six assists.
McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Poland Seminary, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
McKinley will be playing in front of their home fans against East at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Poland Seminary, they will head out on the road to square off against Lakeview at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
