Ayden - Grifton has gone a perfect 5-0 against J.H. Rose recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Ayden - Grifton Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the J.H. Rose Rampants at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Ayden - Grifton took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Northside - Pinetown by a score of 13-9.
Ayden - Grifton got a massive performance out of Jo Nowell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and one stolen base. What's more, Nowell posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Shia Mitchell, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
Ayden - Grifton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northside - Pinetown only posted an OBP of .371.
Meanwhile, everything went J.H. Rose's way against Fike on Thursday as J.H. Rose made off with an 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rampants.
Santana Sneed and Michelle Jenkins made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Sneed tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jenkins tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Sneed scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances, while Jenkins scored a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, J.H. Rose let Ava Credle and Clara Allen run wild. Credle scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Allen scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
J.H. Rose's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Ayden - Grifton, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1.
Ayden - Grifton took their victory against J.H. Rose when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4. Does Ayden - Grifton have another victory up their sleeve, or will J.H. Rose turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
