They suffered a tough 64-38 defeat at the hands of Springfield Renaissance on Tuesday. Mahar Regional was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.
Springfield Renaissance's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sy'Nye Baker led the charge by scoring 17 points. Zi'yan Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Mahar Regional's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Springfield Renaissance, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
Mahar Regional will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Springfield Renaissance won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Franklin County Tech at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Franklin County Tech is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
