Turlock is 0-10 against Gregori since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Turlock Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Gregori Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Turlock earned an 8-4 win over Pitman.
Cadee Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Five bases. while going 3-for-4.
In other pitching news, Kendall Higgins looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, Turlock got a big performance out of Jaysee Rubio, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Abby Maxwell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gregori). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Downey a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Jaguars, who have now won four games in a row.
Kaliyah Mauia was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Another player making a difference was Olivia McNelis, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Gregori hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Gregori's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Turlock, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Turlock hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Gregori struggles in that department as they've averaged .395. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
