Carrollton has won 29 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Greenfield/Northwestern has won 29 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Hawks will welcome the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Carrollton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Griggsville-Perry with a sharp 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 17 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Hannah Uhles and Brookelyn Eilerman made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Uhles struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). At bat, Uhles went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles, while Eilerman went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Daci Walls was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Lauren Flowers, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Carrollton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 22 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Greenfield/Northwestern hadn't done well against Brown County recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Hornets.
Jaylynn Pitchford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Greenfield/Northwestern got a massive performance out of Kalynn Weller, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Cox, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Greenfield/Northwestern's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Carrollton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12 hits per game. It's a different story for Greenfield/Northwestern, though, as they've been averaging 9.9 hits. Given Carrollton's sizable advantage in that area, the Tigers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Carrollton took their win against Greenfield/Northwestern in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
