The South Iredell Vikings will head out to face off against the Davie County War Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Davie County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on South Iredell, who comes in off a win.
South Iredell came out on top against North Iredell on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Vikings blew past the Raiders 12-1. Considering the Vikings have won six games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Hughesman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because South Iredell is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-9 otherwise. Hughesman was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Luke Snell looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, South Iredell got a massive performance out of Brody Hunt, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Hunt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Milo Peck, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Davie County fell victim to Lake Norman and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 10-0.
The win got South Iredell back to even at 10-10. As for Davie County, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
South Iredell might still be hurting after the 13-4 loss they got from Davie County in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
