The Sage Ridge Scorpions will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Smith Valley Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Sage Ridge slipped by Virginia City 51-50.
Sophia Soran had a dynamite game for Sage Ridge, scoring 33 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beatrice Liwanag, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Smith Valley earned a 39-29 victory over Mineral County on Tuesday.
The win got Sage Ridge back to even at 1-1. As for Smith Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Sage Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Smith Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 37-24. Will Sage Ridge repeat their success, or does Smith Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
