After flying high against the Woodland Wolves last Friday, the Winters Warriors came back down to earth. Winters fell 68-61 to Woodland Christian on Wednesday. Winters has not had much luck with Woodland Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Romello Bruhn was his usual excellent self, scoring 36 points along with six steals and five rebounds for Woodland Christian. The contest was Bruhn's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Thomas, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds.
Winters' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Woodland Christian, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Winters will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Live Oak is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Woodland Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Futures at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Futures is ranked 653rd, while Woodland Christian is ranked 654th).
