The Cypress Creek Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 48-41 to Jones. Cypress Creek has struggled against Jones recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Cypress Creek lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kason Beezer, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Beezer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Edou, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks.
Even though they lost, Cypress Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Jones, they pushed their record up to 10-11 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Cypress Creek won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Master's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Master's Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cypress Creek in Florida (Master's Academy is ranked 130th, while Cypress Creek is ranked 365th). As for Jones, they will be playing in front of their home fans against University at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. University knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Jones likes a good challenge.
