The Griffin Bears lost against the Southwest DeKalb Panthers back in February of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Griffin took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwest DeKalb. Griffin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Griffin saw an underclassman step up: Naima Foster dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Foster hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Camiya Starks was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Griffin's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Southwest DeKalb, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Griffin will be playing at home against Howard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Howard is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Southwest DeKalb, they will head out on the road to take on Westminster at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westminster will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
