Athens Drive will be defending their home turf for the first time on Thursday when they go up against Knightdale at 6:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Athens Drive had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were completely outmatched, falling 6-48 to Cardinal Gibbons.
Knightdale had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past Sanderson with a 12-6 win.
Knightdale's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Athens Drive's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Knightdale can add another positive mark to their record or if Athens Drive can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Knightdale's step.
