The Crystal River Pirates lost against the Hernando Leopards back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Crystal River had to suffer through a rough 63-32 loss at the hands of Hernando. Crystal River has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Crystal River lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zachary Hamilton. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. Ej Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
It was another big night for Josiah Wright , who scored 20 points along with three steals for Hernando. Wright is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joseph Rivera, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Crystal River has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Hernando, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crystal River won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tavares at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Hernando will be home for the holidays to greet Springstead at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Springstead focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
