The Westminster School Martlets will head out to face off against the Trinity-Pawling School Pride at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Trinity-Pawling School took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Westminster School, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Westminster School was able to grind out a solid victory over Williston Northampton, taking the game 8-3. The Martlets haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Jake Pleau was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Ethan Villacis was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Trinity-Pawling School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Hotchkiss School. Pride fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bearcats since Monday.
Alex Cruz put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jayvian Vazquez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mikey Prince, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
The victory got Westminster School back to even at 4-4. As for Trinity-Pawling School, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Everything went Westminster School's way against Trinity-Pawling School when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Westminster School made off with an 11-1 win. Will the Martlets repeat their success, or do the Pride have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
