A Season-Best Effort from Mitchell Summers Leads Grimsley over Southeast Guilford
On Friday, Grimsley got the W thanks in part to Mitchell Summers playing the best football he has all season. Summers wasn't messing around, rushing for 240 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. The game was his 15th straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2023.
Summers must have Southeast Guilford's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in September (the last time Summers saw the Falcons), he rushed for 154 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 71 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Grimsley Wins 12th-Straight Thanks to Faizon Brandon
Faizon Brandon's big game helped extend Grimsley's winning streak to 12 on Friday. Brandon was unstoppable, throwing for 149 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 56 yards.
Unfortunately for Southeast Guilford, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Brandon. When Brandon last faced the Falcons back in September, he threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Dwight Hall was a major factor in Northern Guilford's victory over Marvin Ridge on Friday. Hall was unstoppable, rushing for 127 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 68 yards.
Northern Guilford's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Hall and Northern Guilford will venture away from home to face off against Weddington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Northwest Guilford Comes Up Short Despite Huge Game from Underclassman Easton Dean
While Northwest Guilford couldn't topple Mooresville on Friday, it's impossible to ignore the impact made by underclassman Easton Dean. Dean was dynamite, rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
For the year, Dean has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 38.3 rushing yards per game.

Kaden Catoe's big game helped extend Grimsley's winning streak to 12 on Friday. Southeast Guilford had no answer to Catoe as he picked up 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
