Girard has gone a perfect 3-0 against Harding recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Girard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.
Girard is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 15-5 to Ursuline. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly ten runs.
Quinn Wilster was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Harding didn't have quite enough to beat Cardinal Mooney on Tuesday and fell 5-4.
Karly Trisler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Azarriah Phillips made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ky'Ziya Minor, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Harding dropped their record down to 4-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Girard, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Harding's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Girard has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .501. It's a different story for Harding, though, as they've only averaged .322. Will they be able to contain Girard's hitters?
Girard took their victory against Harding in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
