It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Pine Forest Trojans ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 51-45 victory over Overhills. The win was just what Pine Forest needed coming off of a 79-33 defeat in their prior contest.
Pine Forest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nehemiah Mcdonald, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Mcdonald has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Lyons, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Overhills still got an impressive performance from Ej Stokes, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Stokes scored 15 or more points. Chauncy Kelly was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Pine Forest's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Overhills, they dropped their record down to 7-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Pine Forest will take on Purnell Swett at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Overhills, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oak Ridge Military Academy at 6:30 p.m. Oak Ridge Military Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 808 points over their last 11 matches.
