Douglas has gone 8-2 against Damonte Ranch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 3:45 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Douglas turned things around against Carson on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Senators with a sharp 7-1 win.
Jackson Ovard made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Douglas is undefeated when Ovard posts one or more home runs, but 6-13 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Duncan Delange looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Douglas is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-12 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Aiden Tarlo was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Jeffrey Peters was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Douglas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Damonte Ranch, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past McQueen 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted against the Lancers since April 22, 2023.
Matthew Bonczyk looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
At the plate, Damonte Ranch saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Wigfield, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Dalton Millsaps, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Douglas' victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Damonte Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 3-15.
Everything went Douglas' way against Damonte Ranch in their previous matchup back in March, as Douglas made off with a 15-6 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
