AAA District 9 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Portland was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in AAA District 9. The Panthers beat Gallatin 16-13 earlier in the week.
Mount Juliet took down Cookeville 45-24 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Beech's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Buccaneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lincoln Kenitzer has thrown for 857 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Dametris Watson has 16 catches for 326 yards. Jalen Hurd leads the league in rushing with 1967 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Station Camp takes on Wilson Central. The Bison are in fifth place, while the Wildcats are in second place.
The Golden Bears led AAA District 9 in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on the Cavaliers.
