Lindsay is 2-8 against Muenster since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lindsay's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Era as they made off with an 18-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.
Lindsay let EmmaRae Cox and Kylie Hielckert run wild. Cox went 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three RBI, while Hielckert scored three runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits Cox has posted since back in February of 2024. Reagan Swaney was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Lindsay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Muenster came tearing into Friday's game with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Dragons as they made off with a 21-0 win.
Muenster got a massive performance out of Brynlee Berend, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Anna Kay Hennigan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Muenster pushed their record up to 16-7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Lindsay, their record now sits at 14-8.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lindsay hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like Muenster struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lindsay suffered a grim 15-6 defeat to Muenster in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
