Colton Smith of Fairfield Prep ran for the longest rushing play in Southern Connecticut Division I - West this season against Xavier last week. Smith scampered for 80 yards on the play and finished with 303 on the day as his team topped the Falcons.
Fairfield Prep added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Xavier, 46-27. The win marks fourth in a row for the Tom Shea's team.
The Jesuits' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Smith threw for 130 and 1 touchdown and John DelliSanti had 98 yards receiving. On the ground Smith contributed 303 yards. Nicholas Crowle helped Fairfield Prep's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 16 yards.
Smith was a force in the backfield as Fairfield Prep topped Sean Marinan's team.
Smith was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Crowle added to the ground attack by rushing for 131 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback David Ryan of Amity Regional is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,908. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is DelliSanti. The Fairfield Prep star has 32 catches for 694 yards.
The Falcons lost to the Jesuits 46-27 last week, the largest margin of any game.
